Easy to Use
The auto features of this gigabit switch make installation plug and play and hassle-free. No configuring is required. Auto MDI/MDI-X crossover on all ports eliminate the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Auto-negotiation on each port senses the link speed of a network device (either 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps) and intelligently adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance. It also features diagnostic LEDs which display status and activity, allowing you to quickly detect and correct problems on the network.

— D-Link, the worldwide leader in manufacturing of networking, broadband and digital electronic technologies, today announced a new series of desktop Gigabit solutions with the D-Link GigaExpress DGS-1005D 5-Port Switch and the D-Link GigaExpress DGS-1008D 8-Port Switch. These affordable 10/100/1000Mbps switches bring the speed and features normally found in expensive, enterprise-level switching solutions to the desktop for Small Office Home Office (SOHO) and small to medium businesses (SMB). The switches provide businesses with the speed and bandwidth to move large files such as graphics, CGI, CAD or multimedia files to and from file servers at ten times the current networking speed. The D-Link DGS-1005D and the D-Link DGS-1008D are high-speed future-proof solutions to meet the needs of the SOHO and SMB that has limited access to IT support, and needs a budget-conscience, easy-to-use Layer 2 solution.

The D-Link GigaExpress DGS-1005D 5-Port Switch and the D-Link GigaExpress DGS-1008D 8-Port Switch feature non-blocking switching architecture that filters forward packets at full wire-speed for maximum throughput without sacrificing standard 10/100 connected devices. Integrated 802.3x Flow Control lets both switches run at full duplex mode.
