Image Details:

Juan Gris was born in Madrid on March 23, 1887. He studied mechanical drawing at the Escuela de Artes y Manufacturas in Madrid from 1902 to 1904, during which time he contributed drawings to local periodicals. From 1904 to 1905 he studied painting with the academic artist José Maria Carbonero. In 1906 he moved to Paris, where he lived for most of the remainder of his life. His friends in Paris included Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, and Pablo Picasso and the writers Guillaume Apollinaire, Max Jacob, and Maurice Raynal. Although he continued to submit humorous illustrations to journals such as L'Assiette au beurre, Le Charivari, and Le Cri de Paris, Gris began to paint seriously in 1910. By 1912 he had developed a personal Cubist style.

About Chinese oil painting

Well known that commercial oil painting has existed for about several hundred years. During this period, numerous great masters sprung up, especially the morden Chinese painters, Zhao Wuji, Wu Guanzhong, Zhang Xiaogang and Yue Minjun as topping representatives.
Most world-class painters started painting by copying great masters' arts. This is a commonly accepted effictive way to get well trained and skills improvement.
In the late 1980s, most Chinese graduators from art colleges came to a village called Dafen in Shenzhen city, which later became a worldwide oil painting producing base began a new way of life by painting the same arts from a small to large volume in their respective workshops, then sold them out to support themselves.

About our painters

All our paintings are from Dafen, the worldwide oil painting base. Each painting is meticulously carved by young art graduators and experienced painters, the complete process including sketching, coloring, details amending and glazing.
Early Zhao Wuji, Wu Guanzhong, present-day Zhang Xiaogang and Yue Minjun are outstanding representatives in Chinese oil painting field. Their works has earned worldwide popularity. Of course, the prices also reach a record high and still have further value-increase room. The price of Zhang Xiaogang and Wu Guanzong works hit separately an increase of near 36 TIMES and A DOZEN TIMES within just 8 years from 2000 to 2008, Zhang's from 1106USD per sq feet to near 40053USD and Wu's from 3804USD to 44299USD. Without doubt that some earlier buyers earn quite a lot by thier paintings.

We use Winsor & Newton Oil Color, flavorless polish oil and good quality canvas. Our canvas price is 2 times higher than that of the common. After market research, we found the low quality painting is made of 0.5USD worthy oil color, pungent oil and common canvas.
For our painting, it commomly takes 3 to 4 days. Because each painting is colored for several times, for some colors can not be drawed on before the former dry. All our painters exert great efforts in their works. We promise our colorful paintings will bring you an unbelievable enjoyment..
