Like many other reviewers, I was reluctant to order such an expensive and custom-made dress online, but the reviews made it seem like it was worth it. It took about 3 weeks not including weekends to arrive. When I tried it on, I knew I had made the right choice. I did however need to hem it about 1 inch and take in the shoulder straps about 1 inch as well. Other than that, it fits like a dream. I had it custom made and I definitely recommend doing so. I am so pleased how everything worked and have told all my friends about light in the box! This dress was a major highlight of prom night for me and I felt so beautiful and comfortable that it was made even more special.

Beautifully made-used custom sizing and spot on, except as I am rather large busted, it was very low on me and i was in dandger of 'spilling out'!. I decided to have dress altered myself to a ankle length rather than full, then used the fabric from that to 'fill in' the neckline a little. Worked a treat! Got so many compliments and the Watermelon colour is simply divine.

The gown arrived less than 2 weeks after I ordered even though there were some issues with the measurements I sent. I received an email telling me one the figures seemed a bit off and asked me to remeasure. Sure enough, they were right, I was off by an inch. One week after that email the dress was in my house. It is beautifully made, fully lined with boning and fits perfectly! The only issue with this dress is if you have a larger chest it is quite low. I realized this before I ordered but since it comes with the shawl, I knew I could make a "privacy panel" to close up the deep V a little. This is a quality product, especially for the price.

However, I do have one gripe about the order, when I was looking for a dress online I asked for a UK website from google search, and your website came up. I ordered and waited for the dress to arrive and I was quite surprised that the dress came all the way from CHINA.

I had my dress delivered to my work, DHL delivered it.

Then I got an invoice from DHL for Shipping/customs and excise for £31.00.

I realise that I didnt read the purchasing requirements correctly, well I thought it was coming from the UK.

Please may I ask that you make it quite clear to your customers that purchase from you in future that they will be charged extra than stated on the purchase, I am financially ok, but others may not be.

I feel that I have been lied to or misinformed about my purchase, so therefore will not buy from you again.

I received my dress within the stated time - it is beautifully made, and fits well. I am tall and find this dress is a little long, I understand this is to allow for alterations if required. If I had had the made to measure sizing I am sure it would have been 100% correctly sized as regards length. This is my first purchase so I went for a stock size to guage the fit. My daughter first purchased from your company and I followed after seeing her dress.
This dress is deeper in the decollage than appears in the picture. The underskirt is beautifully crafted and boned. A very professional effort,I am most impressed as are my friends who have seen the frock.

I ordered this in navy with custom sizing (I am 6'3" tall without shoes) for a formal business event, and it was exquisite! The only complaint I had was that the pictures do not show it to be as low-cut as it is, and I had to have it altered to raise the extremely low neckline. Even with custom sizing (and being very average in endowment), I was still showing off the bottom curve of my cleavage before alterations - and the picture with the model looks like most of her cleavage is covered! Still, the workmanship is extremely good, the fabric is lovely, the delivery (even for custom sizing) was speedy, and the price was excellent. I am extremely pleased with this dress!

I ordered this gown in ivory and was very skeptical at first because it was so inexpensive and it had to be shipped from overseas. However, I received my gown almost two weeks ahead of the scheduled shipping date! Since my mother is a professional seamstress, we did not order the gown to my specific measurements, but rather to the closest standard size. I am absolutely astounded by the gown!!! It is beautiful and exactly what I wanted for my wedding. My mother is making the necessary alterations and I am EXTREMELY happy with it!!! She, too, as a professional, had good comments regarding the quality of the sewing and placement of the boning, etc. I will recommend Light in the Box to ANYONE who is getting married or shopping for attire for a special event!! We ordered my Maid of Honor's dress from Light in the Box as well and are just as pleased with it! We ordered a standard size for her as well and hers doesn't even need altering! I will send pics of my wedding!!
