Slim and compact, the Pentax Optio A36 is a 12 mega pixels compact camera that delivers you the highest image quality and detail you need for enlarged prints and cropping into photos. Equipped with a 3x optical Pentax Zoom lens, go the extra distance you need for a more dramatic close-up shot. Enhanced Face Recognition assures you with the most ideal portraits with Auto Focus and Auto Exposure fine-tuned on every face in the photo.

Coping with shakes and fast action shots, the sensor-shift mechanism inside the body counteracts and reduces the potential for blurring in photos. Movies can be additionally recorded in .AVI format (DivX compatible) and at MPEG-4 format with the quality of 30 frames per second. Movie recording is also benefited by anti-shake mechanisms. A 2.5-inch LCD with backlight offers low reflection and wide-viewing angle for easy viewing and access to menus.
