What a tablet! Buying this was a first for me in a lot of ways, I'd never bought something as expensive online, I'd never bought a tablet before and I'd never dealt with Lightinthebox.com before. Thankfully, I have been hugely surprised on all counts. I ordered the AlphaPad on Monday and received it (in Ireland) the next Monday, so I was thrilled with the shipping time. I was going to take away one star because they gave me the wrong power adapter, but as soon as I notified them, they offered to send me a suitable one as soon as possible, so 5 stars for convenience and customer service!

So, the hardware is good. This thing looks identical to an iPad, has a really nice weight to it and a pretty excellent build quality. The capacitive screen is super responsive with all apps. The speakers aren't out of this world and if you hold the tablet landscape it sounds like you're wearing earphones where only one bud works, but I rarely use the built-in speakers, instead retreating to my headphones.

The software, Ice Cream Sandwich is a joy to use. The design is so slick and intuitive that after an hour or so you've worked out most of the kinks and can use the machine with very little difficulty (but the more time you spend exploring, the quicker you'll get and the more shortcuts you'll find). A couple of upgrades from Honeycomb make this thing ideal for multitasking.

The reason I think this particular model is so good is it allows you to do everything. It's got a lot of RAM, a zippy browser and some really cool built-in content. When I bought the tablet, I didn't really know what exactly I wanted it for, but since I've had it I've been watching documentaries/films online through the flash player (take that iPad), reading comics and books with pin-sharp detail, playing games and just generally socializing and the AlphaPad has managed everything I've thrown at it!

This thing has enough screen space, RAM and hard drive space to be perfect for just about any application you can think up for it.

And then you look at the price! I mean wow! For half the price of the new iPad (including customer and import stuff which you should consider when buying this product) this product excels.

The competition to the I pad just got a whole lot stiffer once the Alpha Pad gets a few reviews in the popular mags shipping will not be able to cope. The screen size is better than the apple the definition is fantastic so far no real down side, all the apps from the market install quickly and work straight out of the box. Files transfer at a real fast rate to the SD card or USB stick so everything is really portable fro my other pc's. Even the industry standard Office files can be used without and problems or loss if you get the right app. All round a real competitor to the Ipad and you are not tied to Itunes or any other proprietary program and the Android market is vast and groing all the time. Very well pleased even if had cost a lot more it would still have been worth it.

If these Android 4 tablets were flooding the US market the iPad2 would have VERY stiff competition.

The operating systems of Android 4 (ice cream sandwich) is FAR better than IOS5. The device hooks up to your PC directly via a USB, or to a USB Memory Stick, or external hard drive w/out having to go through iTunes type interface. You can browse files DIRECTLY on the device and transfer them to any external device you'd like. And of course the holographic interface is pretty nice in it's own right. There are a great many features for this device and the price is about 1/3 the cost of the LOW END iPad with the quality of the iPad2. The camera isn't wonderful, but it's acceptable, and the battery could be better, but it's alright, however it does have a 3G port.

All in all this is REALLY a great product that ships worldwide and provides the Android 4 O/S.

One thing about PURCHASING, they WILL ask you for a digital copy of your credit card for processing, don't let this scare you. What they REALLY need is a digitized copy with just the last 4 digits exposed for identity verification. I was a reluctant to order until I found out that the copy only required the LAST 4 digits of your CC# to avoid fraud. I did do it, they delivered on time and the product works as advertised.

You will be advised to get the expedited shipping and I recommend you do so since it's actually cheaper (believe it or not) and the package gets handled far better.

For my Western European friends or my colleague in the United States I would enthusiastically endorse this product over the iPad if there is no need for 3G and WIFI is suitable. It's truly a great product!

I agree with most others, this Tablet is a great deal for the price! Ordered mine on Thurs and it was here by Thurs the following week, so no complaints there. I am new to the Android experience, so am not sure if its user error or incompatible apps. But, as others, my only complaint is that LITB assures us that Netflicks will work on the AlphPad but Ive not been able to make this happen. My app is from Google play and then from Amazon apps. Both apps download and install, plus show my content. But.... neither actually play anything.
Other than that, this is a great tablet! Battery life is great, I surfed the web for 4 hrs and still had 30% batt life left.

ALTHOUGH............UPDATE: SEPT 4. HAVENT DROPPED IT OR ABUSED IT IN ANY WAY AND IT ALREADY DOES NOT FUNCTION. ........
