The jacket does up with a clasp just above the bust. On me, it is not square-cut at the bottom like the picture shows, it meets at the bust, then is cut like a triangle down to the back. It is warm and comfortable on. I have very broad shoulders and knew it might not fit well (based on the measurements given). It fits ok but I can't get the clasp done up. I have bought a larger loop for the clasp to attach to and hopefully it will be able to be done up for the wedding I am attending (once I stitch on the new clasp). Either way, I am happy with this jacket. It would be lovely for someone with narrower shoulders.
