By the way, photos depicting the combo device are the wrong way up. Do not try to put it in the same way as screw holes will not much to those of the bay

How to make the “3.5" Internal PCI-E to USB 3.0 Host + All-in-1 Card Reader Combo” work.

As of today (Feb. 14, 2012) Win 7 OS has NO DRIVER for USB 3.0 Host Controller. Following guide lines apply to and work for Win7-64bit OS, as tested on my PC

Before anything else:
1. Go to http://www.via-labs.com/en/support/downloads.jsp
2. Download the file VL800 & VL801 USB 3.0 Host Controller – Driver 1.90A (Feb. 8, 2012)
3. Unzip and run it.
4. Turn off your PC and disconnect it from mains power
5. Connect the device as per instructions, connect your PC to the mains power and turn it on.
The device will be automatically recognized. You are done!
If you are reading this after unsuccessful attempts, do the following:
1. Uninstall whatever software you have tried to make it work.
2. In case of drivers, uninstall thru Device Manager
3. Continue with 1 to 5 above

N.B.1
3.567 files in 465 folders totaling 17.506.731.321 bytes were transferred from an internal ST31000520AS 1TB ATA II Device to an Toshiba 1TB Canvio® Plus 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive in 376 seconds, giving an average of 46,7Mb/sec.
Not bad compared to 18,6Mb/sec of the same number of files transferred from the first internal to a second similar internal.
Transfer speed from USB 3 to USB 3 has not yet been tested since the 2 HITACHI external 3TB HDDs I have ordered, have not yet been received.
N.B.2
The four (4) removable disks (memory card readers) that show in Win7 explorer cannot be hidden.
Solutions proposed on the Internet like the one at: "http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/295-folder-options-open.html", simply does not work

Update as of Apr. 29, 2012
Transfer speed from ext. USB 3 to ext. USB 3 averaged 98,7 Mb/sec for copying 2.170.506.731.321 bytes (458.854 files in 53.320 folders with a 24% fragmentation of the source HDD)
After quick formating the source ext. HDD, same files were copied back,at an average of 109,2 Mb/sec.
