the tripod is a very usefull accessory. small when not used, as big as an orange. it fits coorectly the size and the weight of a sony A55 with a 18-200 Sigma, but it is the limit. An advantage : due to its size, I can travel with it every time I go to take pictures. It grips to any thing, the pods can be shortened or lengthed by tabing balls from another pod. a very versatile tripod.

I bought the medium size Gorillapod for my husband for the holidays not knowing that he bought the large one for me. Now that we have both, we've found that they serve entirely different purposes. The medium size is more flexible, wrapping around the rails of chair backs and tree branches, handling the weight of our SLR perfectly. The large size is far more sturdy for tabletop use with our long lens. It curves nicely around objects too, and grabs them with more strength than the medium, but still, the medium is perfect for wrapping around narrower objects. If we had just one or the other, we would be satisfied, but at such an affordable price point, having both suits every conceivable situation.
