It plays quite a range of video and audio files and can receive SDTV and HDTV in Australia as well as analogue TV
It can also be used to record TV but not directly from the EPG.
Although it receives Australian HDTV channels, it does not decode AC3 and so there is no audio when receiving Australian HDTV. The SDTV and analogue TV is OK though.
The WiFi works OK, however the bandwidth limitations of WiFi G limits the data and so HD video across a WiFi network is not successful. Generally the wired network is OK in this regards.
I have had no problems with networking the unit with XP pro and Vista, but am having some problems with Windows 7 Home Pro. This may be the fault of WEindows 7.
The other problem is the complete lack of support.
The unit has facilities for firmware updating, however no updates appear to have been issued.
This unit could became a premium unit with some good firmware to overcome limitations such as AC3 support, Programming directly from EPG, widening media format support, internet access, better and faster remote response, etc.
As it currently stands, unless costs are a major consideration, other PVR's such as the TVIX 6200, have overtaken it
