I definitely got what I paid for. This product does not allow full functionality with my D300. It releases the shutter automatically, but there are some ways in which the remote behaves strangely. When the remote is connected, there's no image review available. You can trigger the shutter to open in Bulb mode, but a second shutter press does not close the shutter -- you actually have to turn the camera off to close the shutter. And last, the lens auto-focuses when you plug the remote in, not when you half-press the shutter release button on the remote.

For the price, it's a reasonable buy. I'd probably spend the money on the branded Nikon product next time around, but this is a cheap, usable solution for the time being.
