I ordered the dress in champagne for my nieces wedding. I thought it looked beautiful when I received it. It was lined, the detail work in the waist and sleeves was very pretty. Because the picture is black, it should be noted that the bust is also very detailed pleating. I also have a big bust, so that's something where measurements need to be exact.

I ordered this dress in the sage which is a little more green than I expected, but it is pretty.
The bodice and the detail workmanship is beautiful; but the skirt was shorter than I expected and is not very full. I would prefer a little more flare to the skirt. It just hangs there not very flowing . I would have returned it, if I hadn't ordered custom measurements. I will try to have the skirt altered I ordered more fabric. It is good that one can order extra chiffon if desired. I think a tea length with a little flare will give me the my desired affect.

How long is the dress in inches from shoulder to hem in the back? Also, can I request extra length?

The length of the dress is made according to your hollow to floor size. Different sizes have different skirt length. As long as you order the correct hollow to floor size for this dress, it will fit as pictured in length.
