I ordered the dress customemade, but also took the dress to a professional seamstress. She took out the padding and also made the dress a little bit more perfect.
So If you are smart, order the dress al little bit bigger, like I did.

We got Married in August 2012, so now I can place some pictures of our wedding.

Love love love this dress!! I received the dress yesterday after about 2 weeks. I ordered in ivory size 8, being 1.78 ( 5'10") and 65 kg (143 pounds). The dress is a little big around my waist, but I'm happy that it's a little loose instead of too small. Before the wedding I can have it fixed easily. I was worried about the hight, since I'm tall. But I have to say that I like the fact that the dress is pretty short on me. Makes it playful.
The quality is very good, thick satin and loads of tule. All the knitting etc. looks perfect. Because of the cups in the chest area, you do get a bigger chest. So large busted ladies, be aware.
The picture is me trying the dress on for the first time. Since wearing the dress I have seen that ivory or white accessories are the best combination. Makes it more chic and wedding like. I have also bought a white headpiece, small lace-gloves and will search for ivory shoes.
The fact that it's unconventional and fifties style suits me perfectly. I will marry in 2013 with my big love, so I am extremely happy that I already have the right dress! Can't stop dreaming about the dress....

Edit: About 2 weeks after I received the dress, I got an invoice from Fedex. I need to pay Euro 65 on taxes as my total amount was around Euro 170 ( I got some more things next to the wedding dress). I am from Holland and luckily I expected an invoice after reading other dutch reviews. For me the dress is still worth it.

I bought this dress because I thought It was perfect for me. I was really apprehensive about ordering my dress over the internet but I read all the reviews and decided to go for it. I have not been disappointed. I gave my own measurements and I made myself a little mistake adding about four cm in waist in order to be able to bread normally. That wasn't necessary and so the dress will need some slight adjustments but overall it fits really well.
The dress looks really expensive and the material is heavy and gorgeous. Much better than I had expected. The detailing like the stitching is perfect. There is plenty of volume in the skirt. I would have paid triple what this dress actually cost. All in all, the quality is impeccable, just wonderful!

The dress did come very quickly, compared to the timing I expected. I should also mention that the order process could not have been easier. I am very, very satisfied. This dress and Light in the box are excellent. I'm very glad I ordered from this site and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Lightinthebox.

I ordered this dress for the registry office part of my wedding. I gave my exact measurements when ordering. It arrived within a good time and it was beautiful, I did have to have it taken in as the top of the dress wasn't fitted enough and because of the weight of the bottom of the dress it pulled the dress away from my body, I had some alterations done and it was perfect. Rather have to have it taken in then not fit at all!

The dress is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend it.

Absolutely beautiful! Fits perfectly. I ordered based on the measurements given in the guidelines and not my normal size. I was very reluctant to purchase from just a photo but am so glad I did. The quality is top notch and I couldn't be happier!

Well what can I say about this dress? I Love love LOVE it! Never wanted to take it off. I had so many comments about how gorgeous I looked on my wedding day and how nice it was to see someone in a DIFFERENT style of dress other than strapless and SWAMPING. I bought it last year in July for my October wedding in Alnwick, England. I know what you're all thinking, not a very summery month (lots of people that have left reviews bought it for a beach wedding) but this dress fitted with my tea-party theme just perfectly and, as I am petite, I knew I wanted a short dress. The silhouette of this dress is to die for, I have put some pictures alongside my review to show you all. If you are petite like me and looking for a classic timeless dress, LOOK NO FURTHER. This is it.

I ordered this made to measure, inputting my measurements when I ordered it. I did still had to have it altered at the shoulders, but the waist fit and the length of the dress for my height was spot on.

When I pulled it out of the box, I was actually disappointed when I tried it on. This was PURELY because it was creased and didn't hang right. BUT once the creases were out and I could see which bits needed to be altered slightly, it was exactly what I was after and I had no regrets.

The skirt is very full. Do not be fooled when you receive it in the box.. once its out of the box you will never get it back in!! :) Once it was altered at the shoulders (so the back didnt gape) and steamed, I was over the moon with it. Its honestly the best decision I have ever made.

The quality is extremely good for the price, and none of my guests could believe I bought it online rather than from a bridal store. They all thought I was very brave but I just knew this was the dress for me!

I was on a budget and bought this dress and all my bridesmaid dresses for under £500. How many other brides do you know nowadays that can say that???

I had so many great comments about it. Nobody could believe how nice a short dress can look. Its sad to say but this dress made my wedding day that extra bit special. I felt and looked like a princess, but without the royal price tag! (I had a smug feeling all day at the bargain I stumbled across on this website!)

Yes, there is a carrier/customs charge, but the dresses are made abroad, have to be delivered through customs so what do you expect? I bought these full in the knowledge of me being charged extra. The money I saved on the dresses buying them online was worth the little extra charge.

Light in the box was just fantastic for me, I actually ordered the other dresses separately a week before I ordered my own and they all arrived on the same day! I had them all in all in 3 weeks from ordering them. My bridesmaids loved theirs as well, pictures of those also attached if anyone wants any inspiration! Xoxo
