I fell in love with that dress when I saw the picture, and ordered it for my up-coming wedding. Paid the little extra to have it custom-fit. When I received it, I loved it instantly. The fabric is heavy and thick, so it doesn't look cheap. The dress is comfortable, fits great, though needed some alterations in the bust area because it was a bit too loose (like if you move, people would see side boobs)... But really minor alterations for an otherwise perfect dress. Nobody believes I paid such little money for such an amazing dress!

I certainly was very hesitant in purchasing this dress since the return policy is so stringent and I would have to purchase it in order to try it on. I was eye-ing this as a second dress anyway, so I wasn't AS nit-picky as I'd be with my primary wedding dress.

I figured I'd go with a standard size, since I tend to fit pretty well into standard sizes. It arrived and there were some small black marks on the front of the dress (pictured). I tried it on and didn't love the fit. I was super disappointed. I thought about doing a return, but decided not to... considering the return policy hassle. A friend pointed out that perhaps I wasn't tying the back sash properly. I tried on the dress a second time- this time, I tied the back sash straight against my body instead of letting it loosely hang, then I zipped up the back. Everything about the dress seemed to work better this way. The straps weren't too long, the bust wasn't too big, and the waist of the dress didn't hang funny anymore. I'm 5-9" and with a 1" wedge heeled shoe, I won't need any length altering. The only altering I might do is figure out how to keep the back sash tight against my body because it tends to come loose rather quickly. We may just put an easy eye hook on it or something.

All in all, I'm pretty happy about the dress- it'll be a fun second dress for my island outdoor lu`au wedding. I searched for a casual open-backed dress for a reasonable price and kept coming back to this one from Light in the Box. Soooooo, you get what you pay for. It's a decent gown worth the ~$150 USD, but don't expect the quality of a $300 and up gown.

...and to anyone trying on a wedding or other special occasion dress: practice some self-love beforehand!

This is a perfect beach wedding dress. It fits exactly like the size chart said it would. Fantastic price and great quality!

I am very happy with my dress. I ordered the white size 8. I am about 5'7 (36bust, 27 waist, 37 hip) and weigh about 126lbs. It runs a little larger in the hip area which is fine because I rather it be a little bigger so I can take it in. The fabric is soft and has a little shine to it. I will be altering the dress and having it made more mermaidish on the bottom. I am pleased with it! I will post a pic after the wedding.

Loved it! Exactly what I imagined, the colour pink is absolutly gorgeus, and it fits almost perfectly. Super elegant and sexy!

It's ok essentially you get what you pay for. Anyone interested in this dress here's my feedback:

I'm a size 10-12 European ordered in a 10 after using measurement guide.
Ordered in 'champagne'.

On the plus side, arrived very promptly, it's ok - fairly heavy with decent lining, doesn't look too cheap (but not expensive-looking either) and style is true to photo.

However also:

1. Top / bust was WAY too big. I'm a 32D European size.
2. When it says 'built in bra' I would use that term very loosely! Doesn't give support but that's fine if it fits properly
3. The colour was not champagne it's more of a sickly yellow
4. What they don't tell you about the price, there is another tax when it's delivered to your door that you have to pay on signing for the parcel approx £25 which is in the tiny small print.

Unsure whether I will pay (again) to have it altered or chuck it at this stage as now the price with alterations and extra duty is going to be closer £200 which this dress is definitely not worth. Have never ordered from this company before or any other like it, has put me off doing so again. However I am most disappointed with the colour though over everything else as not what expected from the colour swatch and viewed it from several different products laptops/pc/notebook, thought it would be more beige toned rather than this awful yellow. Real shame.

The dress is absolutely beautiful! I originally ordered one to be custom fit and when I got it in it was obviously too big by 3 sizes. Light in the Box was very helpful. I ordered a second dress in a size 6 and it is also a little bigger than the measurements given. I had to have the straps taken in about 1 inch and the length taken up. If you are questioning what size to order take into consideration that this dress is roomy in the waist/hip area. The top is easy to fit with a little adjusting of the straps. I also thought about making it a halter style which would make it a completely backless dress. Overall I would order again from Light in the Box and am satisfied with my purchase.

I ordered this item in a size 6 US, I'm normally size 4-6 US. The material was super, you can see it's good quality because it is heavy and feels good on your skin. It arrived quickly, and when I put it on, it was what I was looking for; simple and elegant with clean lines, making the bride stand out instead of the dress too much. It is pretty much like the picture, except, because I didn't order it sized specifically to me, has an inch or two of extra room in the breast area (I'm normally a size 34B). Theoretically speaking, if I had ordered it in a size 4 it would have fit better in the breast, and i would have still fit it in the waist because the back is open. It would also work well for a woman with larger hips. Overall, a great buy, but not spectacular (especially for not trying it on first)!
