I did not want to spend lots of time trying on overpriced dresses and decided to give lightinthebox.com a try. I chose this dress because of its simplicity, flattering A-Line and romantic lace overlay. I did not go for the custom size as one of the standard sizes matched my measurements. Ordering was simple and the dress arrived within the specified timeline – the tracking via the website worked well and kept me up to date.

When the dress arrived in its tiny box, I could not believe how beautiful it was. I tried it on and knew I’d made the right choice. It did need a few alterations but this was done in two fittings with a local seamstress at little cost. I had the straps shortened, the lace trimmed (it was longer than the satin) and I had the lace from the bottom of the dress turned into a panel that was inserted into the bottom of the v-neck – there would have been too much exposed cleavage otherwise. These were all small alterations and done quite easily and cheaply, turning this dress into the perfect dress for me.

On the day, I felt comfortable and elegant – thanks to lightinthebox! I later also ordered my bridesmaids’ dresses and a guestbook from lightinthebox, all of which were of good quality, delivered on time and much admired by our wedding guests. A brilliant shopping experience.

just how i rememberd wonderful. just wanted to ask if the lace over the top could be brought separatley?

So, I ordered the custom gown online after having carefully spent time taking my measurements. The waist and hips fit like a glove...the bust? The gown looked like it had been sewn for Dolly Parton's chest. I was disappointed that after paying the extra money to get it customized, I ended up having to take it to a tailor and pay an additional $150 to take in the bust. I'm a 36B and this gown was made for a 38E. Due to the chest having mounds more material, the v-neck was far too curved and covered up far too much of my upper chest. I'm an apple shape (5'6, 127lbs wearing a medium in t-shirts and 26" in jeans). It doesn't entirely resemble the pictures.

The dress is however very well made. The lace looks a little on cheap side, but the satin underneath and the stitching is perfect. For the price, it's definitely worth it compared to the $1000 starting price for wedding gowns. If I had to do it again, I probably wouldn't pay the extra money for a custom dress (36.5" by 28.5" by 36"), but I would definitely still order from Lightinthebox.com. I'd probably choose a different gown as well if I had known the lace was going to be a little on the cheap side. Overall however, for the price (even with the $150 for alterations) are a deal for brides who don't want to splurge $1000+ for a dress costing them ~$100 per wedding hour

the dress arrived today and is just as is advertised it is made beautifully and fits well, it is made of good quality fabric and i am very pleased with it . but all buyers should be aware that there will be an import tax that you have to pay for on delivery and for me it was £71.00 when delivered by UPS.
WHAT A RIP OFF

I love this dress. it is so much more than what I thought it was from the picture. It fits me wonderfully, I mean yes I'm going to need to alter it but I knew that when I bought it. I love how it makes me look elegant but without trying too hard which is what I wanted. Also the people at Light In The Box were wonderful, there was a slight delay with shipping my order but when asked about it they told why it was delayed and that new date that it would be sent which I really appreciated. Also they responded very quickly which is another thing that I love about because other places wouldn't respond within 24 hours like they did. Overall my experience with Light In The Box has been very good, I will defiantly shop from them again.

I´m seriously considering to order this dress but I would like to make sure the following: 1) If I order the satin colour Champagne, what will be the colour of the lace .... Is it color coordinated or not? 2) Is it possible to shorten the dress in case I will need / want it ... of course I will do it myself (I want to make it knee long after the wedding and wear it for another ocassions as well)?
