I ordered a plus size 16 w without custom measurement (cause my size is very close to what 16w measurements), and switch the belt to burgundy.
The dress arrived THREE days before my wedding (order placed on Feb 10, 2014, and it was delivered on Mar 11 for my wedding on Mar 14). It almost did not make it.
The dress was folded and well packaged in a box, that comes with a thin plastic pink full cover of zipper for the dress. This is a plus for me to bring my dress in the trip.
1. Order early and save at least 1.5 2 months in advance to your wedding.
I kept close contact with the customer service, with several messages back and forth. I have to admit that during the waiting I was kind of frustrated by the order process.... I had to use "complaint" ticket to get them back to me. But overall the customer service representatives were correct about the date of delivery date (they replied me that it would arrive Mar 10). With a day delay, I was so anxious waiting for the dress and other accessaries. But they did make it on Mar 11, so overall i am satisfy about their service.
My Advise: sister, really save extra days, like 2 months in advance, to order your dress. I feel it took them quite a while to finish the dress, even though it is a standard plus size (not custom measurement). I believe they make dresses from scratch when they get an order, instead of storing all sizes in warehouse. Maybe this is not much an issue if you are a standard size women, which they may have some premade in storage?
2. Good quality semiformal dress.
The Chiffon fabric of the dress looks really good in quality. No cheap made feeling. It is thick enough for me in a early spring in San Francisco. Of course you will need a light color cape/Shawl to go with it, if you want to cover up some shoulder line / upper arm. I wore a beautiful white shawl bought at mall the whole time, a lightly unfortunately it covered the belt and waist line a little bit. Lightinthebox does not have many options for wide shoulder bride, so maybe order a very long Chiffon shawl to go with it. Considering this is my wedding dress I was very skeptical about ordering online since it was my first time buying a dress online and none the less my wedding dress.
I am so glad I did!!! This dress fit perfectly! I havent worn a dress in 6 years and was worried about it not fitting in certain areas especially since I didnt send in my measurements. I have a very very small bust and that was my biggest concern. There is a built in bra one that actually snaps/hooks in the back like a regular bra and if the dress didnt have this I know it would not have fit. The built in bra is super effective and I wont have to be pulling it up in order for it to stay.
I would recommend this site to anyone and everyone! I didnt realize that all the dresses are hand made so you need to allow extra time for that if you are ordering online. The shipping was incredibly fast and my dress shipped out 3 days earlier then quoted!!!! LOVE THIS SITE and so thankful that they are reasonably priced!!!! This dress is very nice for the cost, just what I wanted. Something simple, plain and elegant! I was going back and forth on whether to pay extra for the exact measurements and decided to go ahead with the extra $30 expense. I wish I didnt spend the extra money because I will have to get it altered again anyway... It was too long and the dress wasnt as tight as I wanted. Im going to have to get it taken in.
I also didnt like that bow was sewn, so there was no way of making it fuller or tying the sash a little tighter...
What I did love, THE PRICE!! THE MATERIAL, THE DRESS!! I loved the builtin bra with a hook closure. It definitely makes me feel better about it staying in place and close to my body.
I would still recommend this dress and would recommend you NOT paying extra for the measurements because you may have to end up getting it tailored anyway!! Make sure you measure before you order and follow their sizing chart. We used these as my bridesmaid dresses for my wedding and they were good quality, but the sizing definitely was different than what we were used to with regular clothes especially with plus sizes. The bust was a bit lose on most of the dresses, but we were able to manage. And they were really gorgeous! Shipping took about 3 weeks, I wish tracking had been easier.
