I bought this dress for this past new years eve formal I was attending and it was perfect for the event.Initially when the dress arrived there were 2 things I wasnt too impressed with.The first being the sequin detailing on the shoulder strap and second; the length of the dress.The chiffon overlay was too long and since I am only 55, it hung over my knees.Im not a seamstress in any manner and I didnt want to go to a tailor so I actually fixed the issues myself.I unthreaded the sequins and bought some cute earrings from an Ardenes for cheap, broke off the stubs in the back and sewed it to the shoulder strap.For the length of the dress, I actually folded the chiffon underneath and did minor sewing to hold it in place.If you are planning on doing this yourself, be very careful that you dont sew through the satin material underneath through the chiffon overlay in the front, it will end up being a messy fix.But otherwise, size fit well, I purchased a 4 thinking that it would be on the tight side with all the reviews that were posted about this dress but I normally wear a size 4 dress (XS) and this fit like any other dress.There was about an inch of extra room in the waist/hips/buttocks area and very fitted around the chest/stomach.If it helps, my measurements are normally 34 around the chest and 2628 around the waist depending on the clothing store.All in all, the dress is suitable for any formal occasion but I find that it does require a belt of some sort since the colour is plain and there isnt much detailing around the waistline.Shipping was excellent, I purchased it on 11/28/2010 and received in Toronto, Canada on 12/10/2010 but since I had bought this dress around the holiday season with shipping being 80% off, I got it expedited since it was cheaper than regular shipping.I have included as much information regarding the dress I could to make everyone elses decision making process a little easier since it is a pretty nervewrecking experience buying a dress online.The pictures should better explain what the dress looked like before and after.Happy New Year Everyone!

The pictured dress is a size 12, I am 169 cm tall. I was going to get it taken in (due to my broad back it was fitted around the bust but I had a lots of room at the neckline and stomach) but I decided to just leave it because the style is loose fitted anyways. I tacked up the sheath on the sides at the bottom so it was straight across my legs so I could show them off!

Dont waste your money on a gazillion dollar dress, its the photographer that will make the best of your day! I just had one problem: I gave my own size to the order and the dress was a little bit to tight :/ so I started to lose weight :P (just for the persons who want to buy this dress: you should put 5 cm more ... I mean the size)

This dress is absolutely stunning and makes an awesome bridesmaid dress. Its so well made too. The gathering/ruching looks great and I didnt even notice the beading on the shoulder when I ordered it which is such a nice touch. It fits so nicely and is very flattering. GREAT dress. The lightinthebox team were so amazing and helpful what a shame Im not getting married again as I would order through them in a heartbeat!!!

Hi I bought this dress 31 Dec 2010 on the site... the dress arrrived in South Africa 15 Jan 2011... Its absolutely perfect and faultless.The workmanship is excellent andit fits me perfectly. I am a size 2. I ordered it in pearl pink.My only complain is that there was a free shipping promition at the time and I purposefully created a large order to qualify for free shipping i.e. min order was $150 and I ordered for $160 but had about $60 dollars shipping added at checkout.Anyhow...the dress was great.
