Usage:
1. Test the properties of the solution: take a small piece of test paper on a surface dish or a piece of glass, point it on the middle of the test paper with a glass stick or a glue head dropper stained with the liquid to be measured, observe the color change, and compare the color with the colorimetric card to judge the properties of the solution.
2. Test the nature of gas: first, wet the test paper with distilled water and stick it on the end of the glass rod. Then, put the test paper close to the gas with the glass rod and observe the change of color to judge the nature of the gas.
3. Note:
(1) the test paper cannot be directly extended into the solution.
(2) test paper shall not touch the mouth of test tube, bottle and catheter.
(3) when determining the pH of the solution, the test paper should not be wetted with distilled water in advance, because wetting the test paper is equivalent to diluting the tested solution, which will lead to inaccurate measurement. The correct method is to dip in the solution of the glass drop in the middle of the test paper, after the test paper changes color, and then compare with the standard color card to determine the pH of the solution.
(4) after taking out the test paper, the container for holding the test paper should be covered tightly to avoid contamination by some gases in the laboratory
